The Rapture, A Coming Event; Part 1

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

By Anthony Smith Daniel 2:44-11:35 To begin with, what is prophecy? It’s the study of future events. There are those who think that the rapture has already taken place, and that Jesus has already set up His kingdom on earth. I’m here to show that this type of thinking was the same in Paul’s time. Lets look at 2nd Thessalonians, 2:1-5. A letter had been forged in Paul’s name and was sent to the Church stating that the rapture had already taken place. 2nd Thes 2:1-5 “That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, nether by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you. The church here at Thessalonia was upset, for they relieved a false letter in Paul’s name, they were sad because, they thought that they were lost because they believed that the church had already been raptured. What a blow that had to be on these people, waiting on Jesus to return and take them home and then hearing that He had already come and gone. Isn’t that what were hearing today? Prophecy has to take specific time lines that were set up by God. There are over 230 prophetic verses in scripture that have to line up and be fulfilled before the rapture can take place. Unless otherwise noted, prophecy must be taken literally to be understood. There are two distinct fazes, listed in scripture, may I say, more than once, The first is the rapture and the second is the glorious appearing. Some reference for these are, Mth. 24:29-31, 25:31-46., Dan 2:35-44., Rev. 19:11-21. Look at John 14:1-3., 2nd Cor. 5:8-10 and Rev 19:1-10, These last three should be read in conjunction with each other. As you’ve noticed a lot of prophecy times are lined up with each other in one or two single verses. That is the reason we have to look carefully at each verse to see weather there are more than one event taking place. Here are some of the rapture passages listed in scripture. John 1`4:1-3 Phil 4:5 1Tim 6:14, Jude 21, Heb.9:28, and these are just a few. As you can see, God in His wisdom gave us the tools and information to decipher prophecy, and if it was important for God to install these prophecy passages, we should try to understand them. The second coming passages or Glorious Appearing passages are just as long and start from Dan 2:44-45 thru Rev 22:7,12 and 20. This is just the beginning of the study of the rapture and by no means are we even half way thru. Lets look at Daniel and the entire 70 weeks in retrospect. Daniel 9:24-27. 1st we have the Babylonian captivity, Cyrus decree to rebuild Jerusalem, then we have the restoration of 49 years, rebuilding the temple and the city walls under two different men. 1. Ezra and 2. Nehemiah. Next we have the 434 years of silence, or 62 heptads until Messiah shall be cut off but not for Himself. And Jesus crucified, this is 483 years. That leaves 1 heptad or 1 seven year period of tribulation for the Jews, which is called in Jer. 30:3-11, the time of Jacobs trouble. End of 1st Lesson Temple of Spirit & Truth Ministries A.R. Ten Strategies to Cut Your Tax Bill

Monday, October 29th, 2007

By John Gormley 1. Make your January payment in December. That way, you can deduct the additional months interest. Your January payment is for the use of the money in December, and the interest can be deducted if paid and mailed prior to January 1st. 2. Defer Income. Tax rates are decreasing. Collect your bonus in 2007 rather than 2006. If youre self-employed, try to hold off your billing in December so your income checks come in January. This will carry your income over to the next year. 3. Accelerate expenses. Prepay your tax preparer with a check before December 31st for the return he prepares in the next year. Prepay your Keogh or IRA fee or any other investments expenses. 4. Pay your fourth-quarter real estate taxes before December 31st. Fourth-quarter taxes are due February 1st. If you pay your fourth-quarter tax before December 31st, you will be able to deduct that tax payment one year earlier. 5. Remaining money in your Salary Reduction Plan. These plans are called flexible spending accounts. These accounts require you to reduce your salary by a given amount that goes into a fund that can pay certain benefits, such as medical expenses and dependent care expenses. If you dont use it, you will lose it. If you have money in this account, spend it! Prepay orthodontia or buy that second pair of glasses, etc. 6. Make charitable contributions. You can make a contribution with cash or charge it on your credit card. Other contributions can include donation of clothes, furniture, or equipment. Make sure to always get a receipt for every contribution you make. 7. Pay estimated state income taxes by December 31st. State taxes are due around January 15th. By paying them by December 31st, you get to deduct the taxes a year earlier. 8. Recognize any capitol losses. Sell non-performing stocks before December 31st. Any losses offset your capital gains first, and the next $3000 of losses can offset ordinary income. Any excess losses are carried forward into your next year. 9. Get marriedor divorced. If your marital status is determined as of December 31st, you may qualify for a marriage bonus. If you plan to divorce, make sure its done legally and before the end of the year. This may qualify you for some tax savings. 10. Open a Keogh account if youre self-employed. You can contribute as much as 20% of your net Schedule C income into a Keogh tax-deferred retirement plan, and your contribution is deductible. How to Lose Middle-Age Weight Gain

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

By Chris Chenoweth Weight increase in middle-age is very common but it is not inevitable. Unfortunately, it IS extremely easy for weight gain to sneak up on you as you get older. Why do we gain weight as we age? There are several reasons why this happens, but the weight gain can be prevented if we are willing to make some changes in our lifestyle. CAUSES OF MIDDLE-AGE WEIGHT GAIN The primary causes of middle-age weight gain are poor diet choices, hormonal changes, higher levels of stress, and less physical activity. Fortunately, there are easy solutions to be found for each of these problems. As we age, the rate at which our food metabolizes starts to slow down, causing muscle tissue loss and a corresponding increase in body fat. Because muscle tissue requires more energy to sustain itself than fat does, our bodies need fewer calories to run efficiently, and the surplus is stored as fat. Hormonal changes can also be responsible for slowing down our metabolic rate, causing a drop in our bodys calorie needs. For women, this is especially problematic after menopause. The final culprit, stress, can be responsible for slowing down our metabolic rate and increasing weight gain, especially around our waistline. This is as unhealthy as it is unwelcome. The main reason, however, that we experience a metabolic drop is the decrease in exercise that seems to accompany us as we grow older. This does not mean you should give up and let the weight start adding up. It means you must take steps to increase your metabolism and make it easier to maintain your weight. WAYS TO REV UP YOUR METABOLISM AND LOSE WEIGHT *Drink lots of water, at least 8 glasses a day. Water forces your body to run more efficiently, flushes harmful toxins out of your body, speeds up metabolism, and makes it easier to lose weight and burn fat. *Participate in at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day, primarily focusing on aerobic activities that are heart healthy and have the greatest fat-burning potential. The best examples are walking (the easiest), swimming, bicycling, skating, and jogging. Increasing your activity level is the MOST EFFECTIVE way to rev up your sluggish metabolism. *Follow a low-fat diet plan that includes a menu rich in fruits and vegetables. If you eat fats make sure they are the healthy fats like olive oil, nuts and seeds. Cut out as much sugar and starch as you can. *Decrease your current calorie intake by 500 calories. This is very easy to do and will help you maintain your weight and avoid weight gain. *If you lead a stressful lifestyle, find ways to reduce your stress level. Stress increases the levels of cortisol in your body causing fat to be deposited, mostly around your waistline. The more stressed you are, the more fat is deposited.Read, take walks, soak in the tub, listen to relaxing music, or whatever works for you. AVOID THESE UNHEALTHY HABITS *eating a diet high in fat *eating too quickly *eating in front of the TV *leading a sedentary lifestyle *allowing stress to control your life Increasing our level of activity, eating a low-fat diet rich in fruits and vegetables, and reducing our stress level are all ways to help reduce age-related weight gain. The key is to make these lifestyle changes permanent ones. The Role of a Public Defender

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

By Gil Mart Abareta When youve been wrongly accused of a certain crime and been prosecuted, youll certainly need the legal help and assistance of a public defender especially when you cant afford to pay for the legal fees and bills covering the consultations, gathering of evidences, and actual proceedings regarding the case. However, getting a public defender is not that easy. You also have to go through a somewhat-rigorous process. The role of a criminal defense attorney is really complex. He can challenge probable cause for arrest, argue in favor of being released on your own recognizance or on very low bail, negotiate plea bargains with prosecutors, discuss the pros and cons of going to trial, and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of pleading guilty instead of going to trial. These things are what a public attorney can offer you when youre in the same circumstances. As what Ive said, getting the service of a public attorney from a public attorneys office is not so simple. You have to go through a careful evaluation of your financial assets, properties, incomes and debts to determine if you are eligible for representation by a public attorney. And, if you cant afford to hire a lawyer from the private legal community, the court will automatically appoint a government-paid lawyer to represent you. Being freed from the payment of your legal fees is not the only advantage in hiring a public defender. With regards to a public defenders capabilities, you can consider him as the perfect knights for justice because he is very efficient at sizing up your case and presenting an acceptable plea bargain deal to the prosecutor and judge. Additionally, he is updated on new laws and legal theories in his area of specialty. As a result, you may be done with the criminal process and on with the rest of your life sooner than if you were represented by a private attorney. Regarding the drawbacks, you have to know that a government-paid lawyer often has a huge overload of cases so he cant devote a lot of time to a certain lawsuit. He also often lacks office equipment and adequate research access, and cant afford to hire investigators to properly flesh out your case. As a result, you may have little or no access to your lawyer except during actual court hearings. With all these, the decision is still left for you to decide on if youll want a public defender to back you up in your case or not. The Art of Flower Arranging

Friday, October 26th, 2007

By Tina Banks There are currently thousands of sites on the internet that can arrange for you to have some flowers delivered. It is a fast and convenient way for you to send flowers and you can even arrange for them to be sent the same day so that you will never miss that special occasion. There are many skills in the art of flower arranging. First of all, a florist needs to pick the right flowers. This means meeting the customers requirements but also using seasonal flowers, which will not only look better but will also be cheaper. The combination of flowers will also need to look good together so the florist not only need a flair for design, but also a general instinct as to what will work. In European and American countries the emphasis is on large flower arrangements with lots of different kinds of flowers and colors. However, Ikebana is an Oriental style of flower arranging that concentrates on simple and pure lines and colors. When you buy your arrangement of flowers you want them to last as long as possible. Therefore florists need to be able to cut flowers the right way and arrange them so that they stay fresh for as long as possible. Florists also need to be able to understand what a customer wants since they may not always know exactly how they want their flower arrangement to look! Some customers also request special arrangements such as wreaths and florists need to be able to make these. The skill of buying the right amount of flowers to replenish your stock is another important issue for florists and one that takes a while to get right so that you dont lose your profit by having to chuck out flowers at the end of the day. These flowers are purchased from flower markets but like other markets, the stock depends on factors such as supply and demand, and fashion. Although there are many advantages to using an online florist, there are also some issues that you should be made aware of. If you simply choose the first florist that you see on the internet, you may actually be in contact with a call center that then contacts a florist located near to where your flowers are to be delivered. This means that you cant use the knowledge of florists, and they may well charge you a lot more than if you had gone straight to a florist. However, not all sites are like this and once you have found one that you are satisfied with, there is nothing to stop you ordering flowers for every occasion, since this is the easiest way to do it. There are many occasions that you will want to buy flowers for someone. A lot of these are seasonal such as Mothers Day, or Valentines Day. At these times of year florists get very busy so you might want to get in there early to ensure that you get exactly the arrangement you require. These occasions differ depending upon the culture. For example, in England, Poppies are used on Remembrance Sunday, and Red Roses are a symbol of Love. However, in other countries this may mean something completely different. An example of this difference concerns white flowers. In Europe and America white is a symbol of innocence and purity, whereas in many Asian countries, white is a sign of death. Weight Loss with Phentermine

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

By David Turner Losing weight is hard but living with weight is even harder My friend john is an outstanding mimic but is embarrassed to expose his talent because he is overweight. Millions of people around the world are addicted to obesity; the worst part is that children and adolescents are also under its grasp. Reluctance towards fitness and fast life style is a vital factor for weight gain. Such fast life provokes dependency on junk food so much so that we have forgotten the importance of fresh food; in fact nutritious diet has become a matter of opportunity. Whats going wrong? What is the reason for such rise in obesity in the recent years? We eat half the amount of food that people in early 50s used to eat but we surpass them drastically when it comes to weight gain. The answer is straightforward During the past few decades, there has been a phenomenal change in our lifestyle; to be precise we live in a remote control world where the importance of physical effort has literally vanished. Nowadays we spend more time in front of computers, we use cars where before we used our feet or bicycles, and we use lifts and escalators instead of stairs. We have become less active. So, although we consume fewer calories now than a few years ago, we also burn up far fewer calories than before. Weight gain is the difference between the calories we consume and the calories we lose. Or, put more simply, food versus exercise. Yes, we may not seem to eat very much, but if we are couch potatoes we still end up piling on the weight. A blessing called Phentermine: Phentermine is a boon for people seeking fast weight loss; it works by stimulating the hypothalamus gland and affecting certain neurotransmitters to decrease appetite. The hypothalamus is the region of the brain that controls the autonomic nervous system, regulating sleep cycles, body temperature, appetite, etc. Phentermine is available in tablets, capsule and resin capsules. Phentermine is an appetite suppressant; it should be taken empty stomach, once daily, before breakfast. Taking Phentermine late in the day can disrupt your sleeping hours. Phentermine Doses: Oral dosage form (Capsules) - 15 to 37.5 mg once per day before breakfast or 1-2 hours after breakfast. Oral dosage form (Tablets) - 15 to 37.5 mg once per day before breakfast or 1-2 hours after breakfast. Instead of taking it once a day, your doctor may tell you to take 15 to 37.5 mg in divided doses one-half hour before meals. Oral resin dosage form (Capsules) - 15 to 30 mg once per day before breakfast Phentermine side effects : Prescription drug like Phentermine can lead to unwanted side effects such as chest pain, swelling of legs, trouble in breathing and exercise and fainting. Some other familiar adverse effects of Phentermine include Depression Drowsiness, Increased blood pressure, Irritability, Nervousness, Sense of well-being, Tiredness, Blurred vision, Change in sexual desire, Clumsiness, Confusion, Diarrhea, and Dizziness. , Dry mouth, Headache, Irregular heartbeat, Nausea or vomiting, Psychosis, Skin rash or itching, Stomach pain, Tiredness and Unpleasant taste. Treating Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) Without the Use of Antibiotics

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

By Michael Callen What is a urinary tract infection (UTI)? A Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) — commonly known as a bladder infection, kidney infection, or cystitis — is caused by bacteria that attach to the inside lining of the urinary system or tract. In over 90% of all urinary tract infections, the culprit is the bacterium E. Coli, used by the body in the digestive system. When invaded by the offensive E. Coli bacteria, the tissues in the urinary system react similarly to how your sinuses react when you have a cold or allergies; they become swollen, inflamed and irritated. This irritation leads to a reduced urine flow, which causes discomfort and pain. What is the urinary tract? When we speak of the “urinary tract” we are referring to the following:Kidneys - they take liquid waste from the blood and form urineUreter - a tube or tubes that carry urine from the kidneys to the bladderBladder - the vessel that stores the urine until it can be passed from the bodyUrethra - the tube that carries the urine from the bladder out of the bodyWhat are the symptoms of a urinary tract infection? The symptoms of a UTI are many, but some of the most common include:A frequent urge to urinate.A reduced or restricted urine flow.Pain or a “burning sensation” in the bladder area.Discomfort or pressure above the pubic bone.Cloudy, milky, or reddish urine. If you have these symptoms in conjunction with a fever, the infection may have spread to your kidneys. What are the treatment options for a urinary tract infection? The treatment options fall into two separate categories basically defined as “antibiotic” and “naturopathic”. The antibiotic options include a myriad of prescription antibiotics that require a visit to the doctor’s office. While antibiotics are typically effective in treating the UTI, many times they are not. And, unfortunately, the antibiotic option can cause side effects as detrimental as the UTI itself. Because the antibiotics are not discriminating, they kill any and all bacteria despite their purpose. The human body utilizes over 1,000 species of “good bacteria” — each with their own particular “job” to do. Killing the “good bacteria” can cause a variety of unwanted and unpleasant side effects such as diarrhea, constipation, nausea and yeast infections. The naturopathic options include two principal options, cranberry and a simple sugar known as d-mannose (http://www.d-mannose-utislip.com/). The cranberry, or cranberry extract option, has been a staple of folk medicine for hundreds of years. Previously thought to inhibit the proliferation of bacteria in the urinary tract by affecting the pH of the urine, it is now known that cranberry instead interferes with the ability of the bacteria to adhere to the walls of the urinary tract. By doing so, the bacteria are literally flushed out of the system. Recently, however, scientists have discovered a naturopathic alternative to cranberry that is between ten and fifty times more effective. The more effective cranberry alternative is a simple sugar known as d-mannose. D-mannose is a carbohydrate very similar in structure to glucose, yet it is not readily metabolized by our bodies like glucose. It is this fact that makes d-mannose such a fast-acting treatment. When even a small amount of d-mannose is consumed, nearly all of it is removed from the bloodstream by the kidneys and deposited into the urine. Once in the urine it travels through the urinary tract until it meets up with E. Coli bacteria. Interestingly, the d-mannose is chemically attracted to the lectins that the bacteria uses to attach itself to the walls of the urinary tract. Think of the lectins as the suction cups on the tentacles of an octopus. The octopus grabs onto an object with its tentacles, but holds on tightly by contracting the suction cups. Anything that interferes with the ability of the suction cups to grip a surface will greatly reduce the ability of the octopus to “hang on.” In a similar way, the d-mannose occupies the lectins so that they are unable to hold on to the wall of the urinary tract and the bacteria are flushed right out of the body during urination. The bacteria are unable to colonize inside the body. No bacteria, no infection. The treatment is safe, fast, effective and affordable. Best of all is the fact that there are no observed negative side effects when using d-mannose. D-mannose can be taken by the elderly as well as by children, as both age groups are susceptible to frequent urinary tract infections. How can urinary tract infections be prevented? There are many simple things that can be done to prevent UTI. Wiping from front to back after a bowel movement can prevent bacterial contamination of the vagina for women. Using a bidet instead of toilet paper is also very effective. Showering before and after intercourse is very helpful, as well as urinating after intercourse. Drink plenty of water each day so that your body is able to produce plenty of urine. Urinate when you feel the urge to do so and attempt to empty the bladder completely. Finally, for those who experience frequent UTI, it is advisable to take a maintenance dosage of d-mannose in order to prevent UTI from occurring. How To Properly Care For Your Motorola Two Way Radio Batteries And Keep Them Lasting Longer

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Eric_O'Connor]Eric O’Connor Taking care of business…and batteries Batteries. Theyre the most important part of your radio because without them, you have nothing. However, most Authorized Motorola Two Way Radio Dealers are all to happy to sell a customer batteries without ever revealing the hidden truth about them: If you dont take care of your batteries, you will have to buy replacements very frequently. You can use this article, of which some tips come directly from Motorola, for a longer battery life. The good news is that its not hard to keep your batteries in good condition and the most effort required in this process is trying to get everyone on your team who uses two radio radios to follow these simple procedures. Identify your battery type. Before we begin, you need to know a little background about your batteries. There are three main types of batteries for Two Way Radios: Nickel-Cadmium (NiCd), Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH), and Lithium Ion (Li-Ion). Li-Ion batteries, the most recent battery chemical technology, are the lightest of all batteries, an attractive feature to many users. Another advantage the Li-Ion has over the cheaper NiCd and middle grade NiMH is that it does not succumb to the scourge of batteries, memory effect. Memory effect occurs when tiny crystals form over the metal connectors inside the battery. When this happens, a radio will no longer have the ability to reach a full charge. Without maintenance to fix this, you battery is as good as dead in a very short time. Caring for your batteries Now that you know about the different types of batteries, you can identify which type you have. This will determine the proper care for your batteries. Follow these 3 steps: 1. Try to stabilize your batteries at room temperature (72oF) before charging for best results. 2. New NiCd and NiMH batteries should be charged for around 15 hours before first use. This is also known as initializing your battery. Li-Ion batteries should be charged for 1-2 additional hours after the light on the charge turns green. 3. Only charge your battery when it needs it. After a full charge, use as much of its capacity as you can before giving it another charge or swap in a spare battery. Also, dont use the charger as a radio stand and leave your fully charged battery in there for repeated extended periods of time. This will shorten your battery life. If you have to store batteries: 1. Store batteries in a cool, well ventilated, dry location. NiCd batteries can be stored up to two years while NiMH and Li-Ion batteries can be stored for 18 months under these conditions. 2. Batteries should also be discharged to 50% of their original capacity before storage if stored for an extended period of time. 3. When you need to reuse batteries youve placed in storage, youll need to initialize them again (step one in part one). Batteries arent hard to take care of but if you dont follow these steps a battery can die well before its time and thats not cost effective for you. Make sure everyone using your radios understands the procedures for proper usage by making copies of this article and handing them out. Youll thank me when youre batteries are still running strong after two tough years of use. Do you need two way radios? How To Decide What To Wear Underneath On Your Wedding Day

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

By Gregg Hall We all know that brides spend hours, days, and weeks searching for the perfect wedding gown, so it should come as no surprise that what she wears underneath the gown attracts just as much of her attention. If there is a special time to shed white plain jane panties and bras and slip into something sheer, sexy, and magnificent, it has got to be your wedding night. Hey, it only happens once in a marriage! Make it count! So you should be sure to put just as much effort into what your wear under your dress as you do choosing your dress. You won’t regret it, and neither will your future mate. Thankfully, most of the bustiers and corsets that are designed to be worn underneath a wedding dress are sexy in themselves. They provide the lift and support you will need to look, and feel, your absolute best. And you should, because it is your day. After the day is over, you can go slip out of your dress and be ready for your night, without having to take time to slip into something else. You can start looking for your bridal lingerie only after you have selected your dress. It must be compatible with your gown. Nothing should poke or peak out from underneath your dress, that’s for you and your future husbands eyes only! So that’s just one more reason to be on top of things. When you start looking, you will want to go to specialty lingerie shops, where the selection is wider and of a higher quality than typical department stores. The people who work at these shops will be able to better help you as well, since they are experts in fitting lingerie and working with gowns. If you have chosen a wedding gown that is strapless or one that sets off of your shoulders, you cannot wear a strapless bra. Luckily for you, this is exactly the situation for which the bustier was designed. Bustiers are sort of like strapless bras that are attached to a fabric that wraps around your torso. If your dress is completely backless, you cannot use a bustier, but must choose a different alternative. If you are a C cup or less, look into the adhesive Nu Bra, which looks real and provides ample support. If you are bustier than a C cup, you will have to use a strapless bra that connects around your waist. When choosing your bridal panties, choose a fabric that is comfortable to you. Some brides opt to knock panties and bra out with one punch by choosing a one piece lingerie shaper. Doing so will also shape your stomach, making you look svelte. The last thing that you need to choose for your wedding lingerie is your hosiery. If you decide to do full hose, make sure that it fits well and does not cause any discomfort or bulging. The best thing to wear, though, and the most fun, is stockings with a garter. Whatever hosiery you decide on, make sure that the fabric is premium quality so that it doesn’t tear or snag. It’s best to buy an extra set, just in case. Gregg Hall is an author living in Navarre Florida.
